Yeah Month and a Half...

It is what it is and right now what it is is this:

S

C

H

O

O

L

It consumes my time, my mental and emotional energy, my concentration, my focus, my stamina and all of my creative faculties.

I love it.

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely L O V E what I'm doing right now, and the things I am learning are absolutely fascinating to me, but oh dear GOD is it hard.

There are challenges to going to school for a professional degree at any age, but I truly believe that going back to school as an adult is more stressful but more rewarding than it would have been in my early 20s.

I am in adult health II clinical right now, and I am on a post surgical floor of a local hospital. Primarily knee and hip replacements along with neurological patients who have had back/neck surgeries. But somehow we get a mix of whatever happens to be coming into the hospital that day as well. We've seen a LOT of influenza A and B with this late flu season and quite a few random illnesses including an appendicitis!

I thought I'd hate working anywhere but OB, but I'm realizing that I was very wrong about that and while I will still hope and pray for an OB position when I graduate, I know I can work on a med-surg floor just fine for a while.

I am so happy for you. I agree that going to school is harder as an adult- especially for a wife and mother! You are doing a fantastic job and I think its awesome that once again you pursue something that was important to you.

I hope you get an OB spot, too!
