Wish I Had More to Say

Mojo - you are SO right... the problem right now is that there is such a high demand for educated and experienced nurses that the colleges that want to train new nurses can't attract the experienced nurses into teaching positions... its really sad, to compete they'd have to pay hospital wages and most universities just can't afford it.

In any case, school is what is consuming most of my energy these days. I made it thru the two rounds of interviews for the accelerated professional program but I won't know if I'm accepted until June (ARGH!!!!).

I'm getting to the gym 2-3 times a week (which sucks, but I do what I can with what I have) and my weight is stable at 158. I can wear all of my size 10 pants now, which is pretty cool... and I'm trying to eat as well as possible to keep myself as healthy as possible as I finish up this term.

It seems that it is still possible that I could pull a 4.0 again, but I can only miss 16 more points for the remainder of the term in Microbiology... and the majority of the lab points are happening between now and May 11th, and there are also two more 100 point exams as well. Physiology and Chem are pretty much guaranteed A's at this point as long as I don't completely fuck off for the last 4 weeks.

As much as I LOATHE mysp@ce I have to admit that it has allowed quite a few people from my past find me, which is pretty cool... I spend close to zero time on the site, but when I get notifications that someone has found me its pretty cool... (I'm lexysmash there too)

OH! I got a job... I forgot about that... only every other weekend, but its at a VERY NICE nursing home and I start next weekend... Hopefully I'll get to pick up more hours over the summer (after I get back from Alaska) to buffer the savings account...

News...

So, I'm finally healthy again - I had Pneumonia while I was on vacation in Portland for spring break. The vacation was wonderful anyway, and the 1000mg of Bioxin per day for 10 days seems to have wiped it out. I'm back into the post-spring-break swing of school.

I had my first interview for the professional nursing program last Tuesday and have my second one next Monday. I was worried that I wouldn't make it to the second round of interviews, so this is a HUGE HUGE HUGE weight off my shoulders. After the second interview its just a matter of waiting to hear if I'm in or out... wait... that sounds WAY too much like "Next Top Model" or "Project Runway" or something like that.

But really... that's what its like. I have NO idea how many people I'm competing against to get into the program. I only know that there are 25 spots available... and MORE than 25 applicants.

So wish me luck!
